An aide to the governor of Rivers State survives assassination attempt

On Thursday, Opunabo Inko-Tariah, Special Adviser to the Rivers State Governor on Media and Publicity, was attacked by some suspected hired assassins who riddled his vehicle with bullets. This happened on the Israel Ama Bridge in Buguma, around 8pm.
An ex-aide to former governor Peter Odili, Chief Diamond Tobi-West, was also attacked at the same spot a week before. Inko-Tariah was returning from where he went to settle a land dispute. They shot at the backseat thinking he was at the owner’s corner but luckily, he was the one driving.
Inko-Tariah said he was urged not to stop by his police escort, as rain of bullets continued to fall on the car. He revealed that his escort immediately opened the front door and shot sporadically to scare the assailants away.
