Yesterday Rtd Col. Bassey Jackson-Umoh, was paraded by the Cross River State Police command for allegedly stealing a 2008 model of Toyota Highlander belonging to a member of the Cross River House of Assembly, Mr. Steven Okpupken.
He posed as Maj.-Gen Peter Williams, attached to the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja, issued a dud cheque to the car dealer. The cheque bounced, a petition was written to the police and he was traced to Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, where he was arrested.
