Married lady dupes grieving couple with dead son’s baby

Elitha Emeka was allegedly arrested in Enugu State for defrauding a grieving couple with a baby that she claimed belonged to their late son. The scam was said to have been planned with her husband, Emeka Moses Okechukwu. They allegedly started playing tricks on Mr. and Mrs. Eneje just months after their only son, Pascal Eneje, was murdered.

Elitha was said to have called the Enejes that she had a baby for their son and that she needed money for child support. Their arrest came on September 24, 2015, months after the death of Pascal who was murdered on April, 19, 2015. Elitha had already collected some money for child support but the police later discovered that there was no baby. .

According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP, Ebere Amaraizu, the couple further duped Pascal’s parents by collecting N300,000 from them under the guise that they knew those behind the killing of their only son.
