Yesterday, a 15-year-old boy riding a hoverboard was killed after colliding with a bus in the U.K. He was found seriously injured and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. The self-balancing scooters have grown in popularity but they are controversial.
The Metropolitan Police has warned that a 180-year-old law means they can only be used on private land. Hoverboards are regarded as unsafe on British roads and cannot be licensed or registered under the Highway Act 1835.
